In detail:
These superior quality walnut kernels are produced in the Périgord region and certified by an AOP. Of extra quality, they are uniformly light in color and practically free of dark straw and/or lemon yellow color, with dark brown excluded. The term "invalide" means that the walnut kernels may be chipped or slightly damaged in terms of presentation, but not in taste. "Invalide" kernels are therefore smaller and more economical than an intact walnut half, but they are larger than walnut pieces.
